  • Post category:news

The Social Integration Observatory of the Region of Central Macedonia – coordinated by Headway – was created in the context of the new National Strategy for Social Integration and its main purpose is the effective monitoring and coordination of the objectives of the Regional Strategy for Social Integration. In particular, the Observatory aims to highlight local needs in matters of social protection, welfare and solidarity policies in capturing and mapping the spatial dimensions of poverty and social exclusion.

In this context, the Social Integration Observatory cooperates with all the Municipalities of the Region, the relevant structures of social integration, bodies of the Civil Society (NGOs, Institutions, etc.), the Metropolises and with public bodies such as the Hellenic Statistical Authority, the Manpower Employment Organization (O.A.E.D), the Independent Authority for Public Revenue and the Organisation of Welfare Benefits and Social Solidarity in order to gather and analyze the relevant data. The findings of the Observatory research are presented through reports and workshops (Annual Revenue Reports of the National Mechanism – workshops, press releases, seminars and three-month reports) and aim at mapping the social inclusion rate in the Region of Central Macedonia, as well as at recording and evaluating the corresponding measures and policies.

The project is co-financed by the NSRF program and lasts until June 2023 (December 27, 2018 – June 27, 2023).
