Headway is seeking a results-driven Director of Operations to lead the company into its next phase of growth and development. The Director will be responsible for overseeing key operational areas of the organization, ensuring that daily business activities align with the company’s mission and support its long-term objectives. The Director of Operations will implement strategies, lead the teams by example, monitor performance, and ensure that the organization meets its operational and financial targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the development and execution of a long-term strategic plan to position Headway as a leading consulting firm in social policy consulting, both nationally and internationally. Furthermore, he/she will enhance Headway’s presence in sectors such as social economy, entrepreneurship, and sustainability, utilizing prior experience in managing complex funding program (including ESPA, Recovery and Resilience Facility etc.).
  • Oversee the implementation of complex (large-scale) projects and contracts, ensuring their successful completion while meeting established goals, timelines, and budgets. Manage resources effectively as needed.
  • Lead by example and monitor the performance of Headway’s consulting teams, emphasizing professional development and innovation. As a team leader, he/she must possess the knowledge and skills to guide the team when needed, actively supporting team members and maintaining a hands-on approach in all aspects of their work.
  • Foster and sustain strong relationships with Headway’s key clients by leading collaborative efforts. Actively expand partnerships with stakeholders, including peer companies, government bodies, ministries, public services, and regional authorities. Identify and pursue business development opportunities, particularly by leveraging operational programs such as ESPA, regional programs, public investment programs, and other funding sources like the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).

KEY REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as Director or Head of a Public Sector Consulting, or similar executive leadership role in the consulting
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the consulting industry, with over 7 years specifically in economic consulting or public sector advisory, showcasing a deep expertise in the field
  • Possess a deep understanding of the economic consulting ecosystem, particularly in public sector advisory, with the ability to identify emerging trends and growth opportunities
  • Proven track record of leading teams in a hands-on manner, demonstrating the ability to mentor and guide team members while actively participating in project execution
  • Experience in collaborating with governmental bodies and closing comprehensive tender dossiers will be critical for this role.
  • Demonstrated strong market connections and a history of successful funding acquisition through government programs and competitive tenders
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders, including clients, employees, and government representatives
  • A postgraduate degree in economics, business administration, or a related field is preferred
  • Fluency in both Greek and English is required
